Online Sessions
What is it?
Online counseling/therapy refers to the provision of mental health counseling services via the Internet. Thanks to today’s technology, help can reach you right into your office or home. Online therapy is a fast growing method of conducting psychotherapy, and is recognized by the American Psychological Association, the American Counseling Association and the American Psychiatric Association. Research has established the efficacy of online therapy with treatment outcomes at least equal to traditional in-office settings.
Skype or Face-time Sessions
Doing counseling online is just like coming along for an ‘in person’ counseling session. The only difference is that you do so using your computer, tablet or cell phone, in the comfort of your own space.
Ongoing counseling or single consultations are possible.
Practical information

If we decide to work together, counseling will generally take the following course:
The intake session will take about 90 minutes. The focus will be on both the concerns that have brought you to therapy, and to your history across different areas of your life. The intake will help me get a more thorough understanding of you, of your present circumstance and of the potential influencing factors and areas of work.
The first 2-4 sessions (first session being a clinical intake) will involve an evaluation of your needs and goals of therapy. By the end of this phase I will be able to offer you some first impressions and a treatment plan to follow, tailored to your needs and goals. Together we will make sure that the goals set are realistic.
In this phase we will be actively working together on your problem/issue. Sessions’ frequency and intervention’s length will depend on the nature of your problem, goals, time, finances etc. We will regularly checking together whether your goals are met.
It is important for therapy to end in a proper way. We will decide together when it is time to finish working together, while sessions will be reduced gradually. I encourage ending with a relapse prevention plan so that you will know how to deal with the same problem/issue, should it ever reoccur.

In order for therapy to be effective, it is very important that you feel at ease with the therapist you choose. This is a good opportunity to get a sense of each other and discuss about any questions or concerns you might have. An initial meeting can help us both to decide together whether counseling or working with me could be helpful for you.
